Bathroom Organization

Bathrooms are another big problem area, we aren't ever in there for long and we tend to throw things in drawers or leave them on the counters. Having children adds to the chaos in bathrooms because they aren't the neatest beings on the planet and they require so much stuff! This particular post I will be going over a bathroom I did a while back. It didn't take anything fancy but some innovative ideas to get this space working properly.

One of the biggest issues my client had for this project was that she couldn't find a space to leave her daughters bath tub when it wasn't in use, without being in the way. Currently they housed it next to the vanity, but it was so large that it was taking up way too much space in their small bathroom. A simple solution I found was Tension Rods! (Click on picture below to check them out).

I used one tension rod to sit parallel to the first tension rod. The tub is lightweight so I knew the tension rod could hold the weight, we just needed the right spacing. Now it's easily accessible when needed and completely out of the way when it's not. (We tested the height, nobody's heads were even close to it!) :)

She also had a lot of products that were just sitting on the counter- we were able to move them to the corner of the tub with another tension rod product! Her counters are now clear!

Now for the cabinets and drawers! Under the sink I stored their cleaners, first aid, cleaning supplies and extra toiletries. The basket I used was already in the cabinet, just not being used!

In this drawer I housed her nail items, extra wipes, a neti pot and extra curtain hooks.

The final drawer housed her husbands razor kit and travel tissue packs. Everything is now easier to see and obtain.

The drawers now house items that aren't used every day so it will be easier to keep them maintained and looking neat since members of the family won't be digging around looking for items and/or throwing things back in after being used.

There are drawer dividers and drawer sized bins that we could have used to micro organize, but my client was happy with the way it was.

When organizing any room it's important to remember that we are aiming for progress, not perfection. To live in a "pinterest perfect" world is unreasonable! Your space is to be used and easily maintained. Keep that in mind while tackling your next project!
