Moving!

Moving can be very stressful! Not only is it a strain on your wallet, it is also a strain on your body and mental health! Unpacking is even worse! It takes days if not weeks to get complete. I have a few tips for you to help make this transition smoother.

1. Pack smarter! A great tip I saw requires only large garbage bags! :) What you will do is group clothes together (Still hanging) in your closet, take the garbage bag and place it over the clothes, then take the drawstring handles and wrap/tighten around the necks of the hangers and viola you know can transport your clothes without having to take them off the hangers, it keeps them clean and organized!

2. Pack a small bag or caddy with items you'll need on moving day that you won't have time to search for. This should include Scissors, tape, cleaning supplies, paper towels, toilet paper, paper plates, batteries, soap (for dishes and for hands), any medications that you may need, candles/air fresheners to make the home smell welcoming and phone/tablet chargers.

3. Labeling boxes correctly. I know most people tell you it's important to label boxes with the room that it goes in, that's a great tip but I also suggest adding a number to the box as well. For instance the box labeled Children's Bedroom 1 should be the first box that's opened, in there should be the things that are important to start out with and the boxes with

2 and 3 on them are not necessarily a rush to get to. An example of what would be in that box is their favorite stuffed animal to sleep with, that would need to go in box 1 so that you're not frantically digging through boxes at 8:00 pm.

4. Take your time unpacking. The only thing worse than a house full of boxes is a house where you can't remember where you put things! It is important to take your time on the unpacking side so that you can come home to a serene organized space, rather than a chaotic household where time is spent only looking for items.
